Muddies

I asked two separate people in NY if they knew what Muddies are, and both said no. So it got me thinking, what else do we do in the mid-west that the East Coast doesn’t.

Well I learned very early in my relationship that my husband had no idea what Sweetest Day is. Which actually works out in my favor seeing that Sweetest Day is actually intended on celebrating the guy in your life. Cool, no gift for you New Yorker. Our slang is different, our jokes are different, our overall life experiences are different. New York is unique in that you get a little bit of everything when you come here. And well in Ohio it’s a little bit of the same thing every where. Ok I’ll say it, Ohio sucks. But we have good snacks.

Like Buckeyes!!! Yummm, peanut butter and chocolate, how could you even resist. So this week I want to bring back some Ohio flavors in my life. Something about the holiday season, that makes you want to be a kid again.

Muddies! Every one has a recipe, a mix that just makes sense to them. Well I like it this way. You start off by adding Creamy Peanut Butter and Nutella to a bowl and popping it in the microwave for 30 seconds. Then stir and try not to just stop there.

Then just pour that over a whole box of Chex cereal.

Once the cereal is all coated, take a large zip lock bag filled with powdered sugar and slowly add the coated cereal to the powdered sugar.

Then shake, shake, shake until each piece is coated in powdered sugar

And you are done. Or you can add other goodies to your mix, like mini marshmallows, M&M’s, pretzels whatever you prefer.

I like mine just like this. Be careful! Extremely addictive.

How do you like your Muddies.
